Bit
Binary Digit (Binärziffer), die kleinste Darstellungseinheit für Computer. Ein Bit kann den Wert 0 oder 1 haben. Durch Folgen von Bits können mehr Informationen dargestellt werden. Bei 8 Bit (Byte) ergeben sich2<sup>8</sup> = 256 verschiedene Informationen. Das können z.B. 256 Zeichen eines Alphabets (ASCII) oder 256 Farbstufen der Farbe grün bei RGB-Farbbildern sein.</html>
